Association ‘Women Leaders in Jalalabad'

The NGO was created in  1997, and registered as a legal entity on Nov 19, 1999.

Main activities:

1.Support and promotion of women to decision making levels.

2.Support to development of civil society institutions in Jalalabad region (local NGOs, Jaamaty, women NGOs and their associations, commissions and councils).

3.Protection of women rights (Strengthening and developing the Crisis center «Kaniet», Hotline «Stop Trafficking!» and Education and Law Center).

The Association is a member in three networks: «Women Can Do It!», «Association of Crisis Centers», «Migration & Human Trafficking NGOs Network». The partnership were set with: Regional State agencies, nationwide and regional NGOs, parliament members, Women Councils, Youth Committee and Mass Media

Experience in working with human rights observance, including 3 years of working upon women rights. The NGO works upon protection of human rights and freedoms, specially human rights and freedoms of women, children, people with disabilities, elderly people and the poor  in their everyday life and in criminal trials. The NGO Director is a member of Courts Reporters Network - the latter unites  16 journalists working in various fields: printed mass media, radio and TV channels. The activity of the Courts Reporters Network  aims at reforming Courts System in the South of Kyrgyzstan  and observance of human rights  during  judicial processes.

The NGO cooperates with  FSPPER, «Human Rights Advocacy Center» and Journalists of the South in Kyrgyzstan.
